Workshop / course

A single walker, stepping into the procession of language. Seamus Heaney

In an exploration of actual and imaginative space, these four creative writing workshops (see further dates below) embark on walks through inner and outer landscapes, whether those landscapes are real, imagined, or dreamed. Using a variety of writing exercises and stimuli, new work will be created and shared in a safe environment and feedback given by the group and tutor.

Some workshop exercises will take place close to the tutors home in Ulverston, such as Birkrigg, Bardsea, Sea Woods and Aldingham.

Workshops will alaso take place on Sunday(s) 21 October, 25 November, and 22 January.

Geraldine Green has read and been published in the UK, USA, Italy and Greece. She is a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Cumbria, a freelance creative writing tutor and mentor, and Associate Editor of online journal Poetry Bay.

Soem of Geraldines creative writing exercises have appeared in the handbook Writing Works (Jessica Kingsley Publications), and she has recently completed her Practice-based Creative Writing PhD, An Exploration of Identity and Environment through Poetry.

Her fourth collection of poems, The Other Side of the Bridge (read a review here>>), was published by Indigo Dreams in July, and is available in local bookshops and online.
